It was only half a century ago when the equivalent of the modern computer took up the space of an entire room. Today, technology has become so compact and miniaturized that it’s mind boggling to think what the future of computer technology will be like.

We often take for granted the things computers can do today, such as sending email half across the world at the speed of thought, or getting directions for any location on the planet with an existing map. Modern computer technology is the stuff that science fiction writers of the past could only dream of.
